Where would The Artist crack in on my Top 10 of 2011 films?

I saw The Artist last Hursday. Wanna know where it ranks?

  1. Hugo (MVP: Chlöe Moretz)
  2. Drive (MVP: Albert Brooks)
  3. Midnight in Paris (MVP: Owen Wilson)
  4. Rise of the Planet of the Planet of the Apes (MVP: Andy Serkis)
  5. Melancholia (MVP: Kirsten Dusnt)
  6. Win Win (MVP: Paul Giamatti)
  7. The Skin I Live In (MVP: Antonio Banderas)
  8. The Artist (MVP: Jean Dujardin)
  9. Super 8 (MVP: Elle Fanning)
  10. Crazy, Stupid, Love. (MVP: Ryan Gosling)

Read my review of The Artist at YAM Magazine.

Entertaining to watch thanks to its cast and format. Jean Dujardin deserves to win Best Actor, but The Artist shouldn’t win Best Picture (Hugo should).

2011 films I haven’t seen yet:

  • War Horse
  • Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
  • The Help
  • We Need To Talk About Kevin
  • The Muppets
  • Bridesmaids
  • Carnage
  • Take Shelter
  • Shame
  • Captain America
  • Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
  • The Ides of March
  • Warrior
  • Source Code
  • Jane Eyre
  • Rango
  • Pina
  • A Separation
  • Chico & Rita
  • Etc.

For anyone wondering how I’d rank the BP nominees I have seen.

  1. Hugo (MVP: Chlöe Moretz)
  2. Midnight in Paris (MVP: Owen Wilson)
  3. The Artist (MVP: Jean Dujardin)
  4. The Tree of Life (MVP: Jessica Chastain)
  5. Moneyball (MVP: Brad Pitt)
  6. The Descendants (MVP: Shailene Woodley)

For the record, I’m going to keep updating this Top 2011 films until the 2012 blockbuster films start premiering.
